In response to funding allocated by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA), a vital infrastructure upgrade was initiated along Silver Spur Redgate Road. The primary objective was to replace an aging corrugated steel pipe with a1.8m x 1.8m high reinforced concrete box culvert.

A highly detailed 3D model of the culvert was created, ensuring the design adhered to Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) specifications. This model served as both a visual representation and a practical tool for understanding the design’s intricacies. It allowed for a thorough assessment of how the new culvert would seamlessly integrate into the existing road infrastructure, minimising potential disruptions.

Additionally, HARO’s commitment to delivering a comprehensive solution extended to the inclusion of a full suite of site-specific construction specifications within the design documentation. Rather than providing a standard set of specifications, HARO chose to incorporate all the necessary details directly onto the project drawings. Moreover, the inclusion of detailed construction specifications on the drawings significantly eased the construction process for the selected contractor. Precise instructions reduced ambiguity and the potential for misinterpretation, resulting in a more efficient, cost-effective, and timely project execution.

In summary, the collaborative effort between HARO, Proterra Group, and the Council successfully addressed the critical infrastructure needs of Silver Spur Redgate Road.
